The role

We’re looking for a fantastic SF-based generalist engineer who’s comfortable working on a very early product in a quickly changing codebase and role.

You should be comfortable with a high level of ownership over product decisions and the tech stack. You’ll likely work with some of Electron, SolidJS, Rust, Postgres, Pytorch, the language server protocol, and a mix of custom models and model APIs.

The product

Cursor is a new IDE that’s built for pair-programming with AI. In a few months, we’ve built a code editor from scratch, prototyped our first features, and shipped an open beta with tens of thousands of daily active users. Soon, we’re excited to build features that do things like:

• Allow you to navigate and author changes in a “pseudo-code” version of your codebase
• Spot logic errors in your code, before you spend an hour debugging
• Update your repo to match the changes you just made to a class/method/DB schema
• Deploy an agent to explore the codebase and answer some particular question

The company

We’re an early stage startup that’s raised 3.7M from OpenAI, Neo, BoxGroup, and angel investors, including the former CEO of Github and the founder of Dropbox. Right now, the team consists of the founders, Michael Truell and Aman Sanger, Arvid Lunnemark, and Sualeh Asif.
